He was the news manager at the now closed Dicle News Agency (DİHA). In the trial popularly known as the “KCK Press Trial”, he faces a prison sentence between seven years six months to 15 years. He also stands trial for reporting on e-mails that allegedly belong to President Tayyip Erdoğan’s son-in-law, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak. He was detained pending trial for 280 days, and faces a prison sentence between three years and 11 years. His trials continue without detention.
